Dr Ivan Meyer to Host the 2012/13 Western Cape Cultural Awards

Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport , Dr Ivan Meyer, will on Monday, 11 February 2013 host the Western Cape’s Annual Cultural Awards at 18:00 at the Cape Town City Hall.

The occasion honours and acknowledges organizations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development, promotion and preservation of  the historic, cultural and linguistic landscape of the Western Cape.

Provincial winners will be announced  in categories such as  Arts and Culture, Language, Museums, Heritage,  Geographical Names, Libraries and Archives.

The event will be preceded by Minister Meyer and  the Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Ms Patricia de Lille, unveiling  Heritage Western Cape’s Plaque at the City Hall.

The plaque  identifies  the City Hall as a  Provincial Heritage Site.
