Minister Carlisle to Launch R50 000 Safely Home Road Safety Reward Campaign

17 December 2012

Robin Carlisle, Minister of Transport and Public Works will launch the Western Cape Government and Safely Home’s "Safely Home Road Safety Reward" campaign on 17 December 2012. The campaign is aimed at rewarding motorists for good behaviour on our roads over this festive season.

The Province will be offering a cash opportunity to vehicle owners and drivers who remain fine-free over the festive season.

Two cash prizes of R25 000 will be rewarded to qualifying drivers, drawn at random, from motorists with their vehicles registered in the province.

All motorists in the province are automatically entered into the draw, and winners will be drawn from those who meet set criteria and ensure that their details on the National Traffic Information System (eNaTiS) are correct and up to date.

The initiative is part of a behavioural economics technique aimed at establishing a culture of obeying road rules by promoting an identity of responsible road users.
