Colourful Mural Painting at Siyabonga

5 October 2012

As part of Visual Arts Week, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport and its partners are sprucing up the outside appearance of the Siyabonga Care Village for disabled people in Vredenburg.

The project consists of five days of wall art painting by emerging visual artists from the area. It aims to transfer mural painting skills to participants and to showcase the talents of local artists.

The department hopes that this visual transformation will uplift the community, make visitors feel welcome and add colour to the lives of the patients and their caregivers. The mural will be unveiled on Friday, 5 October 2012.
