Minister van Rensburg to Visit Vindaba

26 September 2012

Western Cape Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gerrit van Rensburg, together with Minister of Agriculture of the Regional Council of Burgundy, Safia Ibrahim-Otokore, will tomorrow (27/09/2012) visit Vindaba in the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 13:00 to 14:00.

Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute and the French Centre for Vocational Training and Agricultural Promotion (CFPPA) are co-exhibiting the Western Cape Burgundy Exchange Programme at Vindaba. Both ministers will be available for photos and related questions on the Exchange Programme.

The Western Cape Burgundy Exchange programme was initiated in 2000 by the then South African Ambassador to  France, Mrs Thuthukile Skweyiya. The exchange programme includes study exchange programmes for cellar students and cheese makers, cultural exchange programmes and economic development initiatives. Approximately 500 individuals from the Western Cape and Burgundy have benefited from this programme since its inception.

The Western Cape Government and the Regional Council of Burgundy renewed the Exchange Programme in 2011 for another term of five years.
