Launch of Uniform Constitution for Community Policing Forums

6 December 2004
Western Cape Minister for Community Safety, Leonard Ramatlakane, invites members of the media to the official launch of the Uniform Constitution for Community Policing Forums.

Community Policing Forums (CPFs) were set up throughout the country as apolitical structures with the objective of promoting relations between the police and community. Since inception, CPF programmes have been guided by constitutions which differ from CPF to CPF.

In the Western Cape however, that is set to change. After a series of consultations lasting several years, Community Policing Forums will now operate under a uniform single constitution.

The Uniform Constitution for Community Policing Forums will be officially launched on 8 December 2004 at 7 Wale street- 6th floor dining hall, 07:30am for 08:00 am.
