Your media organisation is invited to the Annual Announcement function of the Matric Results, with Premier Ebrahim Rasool and Education MEC Cameron Dugmore.

The Western Cape Education Department will pay tribute to, and honour all those schools which have excelled academically, often in difficult circumstances. The top performing learners will also be acknowledged.

Minister Pandor to Announce the 2006 Senior Certificate Results, 28 December 2006, in Cape Town.

The Minister of Education, Mrs Naledi Pandor, MP, will officially release the 2006 Senior Certificate (Matric) Results on Thursday, the 28th December 2006 at the Imbizo Centre, 120 Plein Street, Parliamentary Buildings in Cape Town.

The results will also be transmitted through a satellite link to the Government Information and Communication Systems (GCIS) offices in Pretoria situated at Cnr Vermeulen and Prinsloo Streets, Room 710, 7th Floor.

The announcement of the results will begin with the technical briefing by the Director-General of the Department of Education, Mr Duncan Hindle. This will be followed by the Ministers address which will be transmitted live on SABC TV between 13:00 - 14:00.
