World High School Touch Rugby Champions do it again!

13 December 2006

World High School Touch Rugby Champions, Trafalgar High, successfully defended their title in Singapore, and will be welcomed by a celebratory party led by a proud Education MEC Cameron Dugmore tomorrow (Friday 15 December), about 09h00 at the Cape Town International Airport.

Trafalgar High School won the tournament last year, beating more then 30 countries. This was the third World All Schools Championships tournament for high schools, hosted under the auspices of the Federation of International Touch.

They return with the trophy tomorrow morning, landing at about 08h50 at the airport. Family, friends, the school and sponsors have organised a colourful welcoming function at the airport in the Premier Conference Centre, Faranani Room.

For the first time ever, a Trafalgar girl's rugby team also participated and reached the semi-finals.
