Western Cape Chess Olympiad Team Enjoys Tea with Minister Meyer

On the eve of their departure for Turkey, where they will be competing in the World Chess Olympiad, Western Cape members of the SA Chess Olympiad team will visit the Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport Dr Ivan Meyer on 22 August 2012 at 16:00. They will visit him at the Protea Assurance Building, Greenmarket Square, Cape Town on the 8th Floor.

The 40th Chess Olympiad which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, between 27th August and 10th September 2012 takes place exactly twenty years after South Africa's readmission to international chess. The Western Cape members of the SA Chess Olympiad team are International Master Anzel Solomons who is from Rondebosch, Denise Frick from Claremont, International Master Kenny Solomon from Mitchells Plain, Henry Steel from Stellenbosch, Emelia Ellapen from Rondebosch and International arbiter Gunter van den Berg from Melkbos.
