Media Alert: Schoolbus Accidents

The Western Cape Department of Health's Metro Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded this morning to two different motor vehicle accidents where busses conveying school children were involved.

The first incident occurred at 07:16 this morning. A minibus, conveying 8 scholars, went off the road, 15km pass Citrusdal in the direction of Hexriver. Two children sustained minor injuries and were conveyed per Metro EMS ambulance to Citrusdal Hospital.

The second incident occurred at 07:49 this morning, on AZ Berman, under the R300 bridge. A minibus conveying school children overturned. A total of 19 scholars (9 girls and 10 boys) sustained minor injuries and were taken to Van Guard Day Hospital for observation.
