Student Unrest at Western Cape College of Nursing

26 January 2010

Due to the student unrest situation prevailing at the Western Cape College of Nursing (WCCN), the management of the Western Cape Department of Health and Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has jointly agreed that the WCCN including its residence be closed until further notice with immediate effect.

This is to ensure the safety of all staff and students.

The continuance of the R425 program will require all students to adhere to the rules and requirements of the WCCN/CPUT and the South African Nursing Council. The processes to follow will be made known to students.

Issued by the Directorate: Communications for the Western Cape Department of Health.
