Provincial Traffic Gets Many Road Users Safely Home by Arresting Twenty Nine Drunk Drives

Twenty nine (29) drunk drivers were taken in time out of the road environment before they could cause any accidents. Provincial Traffic Chief Director, Mr Kenny Africa is passionate about preventing road users' blood from being shed on the roads. Mr Africa said that Provincial Traffic will lower the accident risks on our roads, but need the co-operation of all road users to succeed in this.

Provincial Traffic Services had several roadblocks over the past weekend throughout the province. We also arrested two (2) people for the possession of dagga, seven thousand nine hundred and eleven (7911) vehicles were stopped, one thousand three hundred and eighty eight (1388) drivers were screened for alcohol use and one thousand one hundred and thirty seven (1137) fines were issued.
One hundred and ten (110) drivers were fined for overloading their vehicles.

Provincial Traffic Law Enforcement officials were out on full force and will continue with these operations, till we have compliance with traffic laws.
