Newly appointed Traffic Chiefs

We want to congratulate four newly appointed Western Cape Traffic Chiefs.

Francois Stuart from Swellendam Traffic Centre started his career in 2009 as a Provincial Inspector and has held the rank of Principal Provincial Inspector for the past 13 years. Today, 1 June 2023, he has been promoted to the post of Chief Provincial Inspector at Swellendam. This day also marks 31 years of service for him.

Janice Dirkse from Vredendal Traffic Centre started her career in 2003 as a Provincial Inspector. In the same year she was promoted to Senior Provincial Inspector. In 2009 she was promoted to Principal Provincial Inspector. For the last 6 years she was acting in the position of Chief Provincial Inspector and has now been appointed to the post. She is the first coloured female appointed as a Chief Provincial Inspector since 1956.

Lunny Spogter from Beaufort West Traffic Centre started his career in 2003. He and Mrs. Dirkse were trained as traffic officers at the same time. He moved from Beaufort West to Brackenfell when he was promoted to be Senior Provincial Inspector, and then moved back to Beaufort West when he was promoted to Principal Provincial Inspector. He has now been appointed as Chief Provincial Inspector at Oudtshoorn Traffic Centre.

Angelo H Richards from Vredenburg Traffic Centre started his career in 2001 and was then promoted to Principal Provincial Inspector. He was in the acting position of Chief Provincial Inspector for 5 years. Today, he has been appointed as the new Chief Provincial Inspector for Vredenburg Traffic Centre.

We also want to congratulate Bernadette Windvogel for her promotion from Traffic Training and Development (Gene Louw Traffic College) to Road Safety Management. She worked for 12 years as the receptionist and Personal Assistant for the Gene Louw Traffic College Deputy Director.
