Western Cape’s 4th Quarter Crime Statistics to be unpacked

Premier Winde, Minister Allen and Provincial SAPS Commissioner LT GEN Patekile to unpack Western Cape’s 4th Quarter Crime Statistics.

Tomorrow, 31 May 2023, Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde, Provincial Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen, and Western Cape Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile will unpack the 4th quarter crime statistics of the province.

Premier Winde said: “As the Western Cape Government we are working smartler, using data, evidence, and technology, to help guide and resource our fight against crime. Our hard work is showing some dividends, but we have a long way to go still.”

Minister Allen said: “This joint-briefing forms part of our regular engagement to analyse and present the provincial crime statistics in detail. The latest crime statistics are promising and show improvement, but while crime persists, we cannot be complacent. As the Western Cape government, we remain committed to working with all law-abiding stakeholders to fight crime in its entirety.”
