Minister to hand over houses in Qolweni and unveil new social housing partners

On Monday 29 August, Minister Tertuis Simmers, will officiate the housing handover ceremony at the Qolweni Phase 3A (169) housing project in Plettenberg Bay. This will be followed by the unveiling of the new Garden Route Municipality and Western Cape Government Social Housing partnership in George, at the Garden Route Council Chambers. 
 
Minister Simmers said: “I am looking forward to returning to Qolweni to hand over the next batch of houses that will accommodate 36 families. This is in line with our commitment to continue to build the Western Cape through innovative and collaborative efforts to improve the lives of residents in our province. Together with the Garden Route District Municipality, we will unveil our new partnership in social housing and visit the sites earmarked for affordable housing in George, which will create even more opportunities for residents to become homeowners.”
