New Year's Babies

Thus far, clinics and hospitals have reported that 42 babies have been born in the Western Cape on New Year's Day. There were 22 boys born and 20 girls.

The first baby born in the Western Cape on New Year's Day was at Oudsthoorn Hospital, to a mother from Prince Albert. The baby girl weighed 2 880 g and was born at 00:12am.

The earliest baby born in Cape Town on New Year's Day was born at 00:20am at Macassar Midwives Obstretics Unit. The baby girl weighed 3 360 g.

Another baby girl was born at George Hospital at 00:30am. She weighed 3 440 g.

The Western Cape's first baby boy was born at Mowbray Maternity Hospital at 00:48am. He weighed 1 180 g.
