Media Alert: Health Facilities Fully Operational during Elections

All public health facilities across the Western Cape will function as normal with a full complement staff throughout the course of Election Day (18 May).

All facilities have put measures in place to allow staff members on duty the opportunity to vote, yet all facilities will be fully functional and all standard services will be provided.

Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, said: "My message to our public is that all health facilities will function as per normal on Election Day. We have made arrangements for staff to work in shifts to give each and every one the opportunity to vote. At the same time, my message to our staff is that we have made arrangements for you to vote - use the opportunity to cast your vote."
