Notice of road maintenance along the R46

Periodic maintenance is being undertaken on the R46 between Malmesbury and Hermon from March to June 2021. Half-width construction may take place on this section of road.

A maximum of three 3 km closures will be allowed, and motorists may expect to have to wait for up to 20 minutes at each closure. Stop/ go closures will only be in operation during the day.

Stop/ go closures will be limited to works related to surfacing, earthworks and subsoil drainage construction.

Shoulder closures will be put in place in areas where drainage infrastructure are being maintained and repaired, but these closures will have limited impact on the travelling public. Traffic flow will be normal, but lane narrowing and reduced speed limits will apply.

The public is requested to be patient, to adhere to speed limits, and to obey all temporary road signs. Temporary traffic control signage has been put in place to ensure the safety of road users and construction workers.
