Minister Fritz to unpack Court Watching Brief report

Minister Fritz to unpack Court Watching Brief report on cases struck off the court role

The Minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, will host a press conference on the Court Watching Brief report for the period of 1 July – 30 September 2020. In particular, the briefing will highlight:

  • The number of cases monitored which were struck off the court roll due to policing inefficiencies;
  • Of which, how many were GBV related; and
  • Steps to address these policing inefficiencies going forward.

This comes after Minister Fritz tasked an official within the Court Watching Brief unit to monitor Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) and Domestic Violence (DV) cases.
