Minister Madikizela to visit Cape Winelands District in build up to taxi lekgotla

Western Cape Transport and Public Works Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will tomorrow, Wednesday 7 October 2020, visit the Cape Winelands District to raise awareness about the importance of transport in the economy and to encourage participation in the upcoming provincial taxi lekgotla.

During his visit, the Minister will meet the Witzenberg and Drakenstein Municipalities before visiting local taxi ranks in Ceres and Paarl where he will use the opportunity to unpack resolutions that have been adopted during engagements with the industry leadership in his tireless efforts to end taxi violence and killings across the province.

Ceres and Paarl have recorded a high number of taxi violence incidents between rival taxi associations in the province.
