Media Alert: Official Opening of Worcester Forensic Pathology Services

The Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, will officially open the new Worcester Forensic Pathology Facility on 27 September 2011.

The new facility is on the premises of the Worcester Hospital and will serve the communities of De Doorns, McGregor, Montagu, Rawsonville, Robertson, Touwsrivier and Villiersdorp. The facility will be in operation between 07:30 and 16:00 daily but the service will be available 24/7 as personnel will be available through on-call and standby duties. The facility will also serve as a disaster centre that can store up to 100 bodies at a time and will provide an autopsy service to Wolseley and Swellendam Forensic Pathology Laboratories.
