Minister Madikizela to attend traffic officer graduation

Tomorrow, Thursday 08 August 2019, Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works, Bonginkosi Madikizela will join the Traffic Training and Development  Directorate during the graduation ceremony of 52 Traffic Officers at the Gene Louw Traffic College.

The new graduates have successfully completed a year-long Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) training at the Gene Louw Traffic College which is accredited as a training service provider by the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA).

The new officers will be deployed throughout the province at various Provincial Traffic Centres such as Knysna and Oudtshoorn in the East and Vredenburg in the West. Eleven officers from local authorities will also embark on their new career at George, Breede Valley, Swartland, Beaufort West and Hantam Municipality in the Northern Cape.

Road safety is one of Minister Madikizela’s strategic focus areas. The Minister is confident that the newly qualified traffic officers will make Western Cape roads safer for all through diligent traffic law enforcement.
