Media Alert: Minister Robin Carlisle Launches "Crash Witness" on New Safely Home Website

4 December 2011

Robin Carlisle, the Minister for Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape, will tomorrow host a press conference where he will launch Safely Home's Crash Witness Campaign, which, for the first time in South African history, will provide the public with access to real crash footage.

The videos, from CCTV cameras across the province, are not for viewers under the age of 18 and sensitive viewers are warned that the content is graphic.

The campaign is being launched on Safely Home's new web platform, located at http://safelyhome.westerncape.gov.za.

Releasing footage of the first three real-life crashes, the minister will explain the motives behind the Crash Witness Campaign.

The videos will be released in stages and are expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors to the website.

Please RSVP your attendance to Steven Otter on 084 233 3811.

Date: Tuesday, 6 December 2011
