Join WoW for an aerobics session and embrace a healthier lifestyle

14 March 2019

The Western Cape Government hosted a free of charge public aerobics class in the Iziko Museum on Wednesday as part of its ongoing Western Cape on Wellness (WoW) initiative.

WoW aims to help Western Cape residents make healthier decisions about their eating habits and to encourage residents to engage in physical activity more often to help reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases.

Neil Naidoo, Western Cape Government gym instructor, said the WoW! Active Public session had no charge and was open to all ages and fitness levels.

“We are mobilising and introducing the entire public to a healthier lifestyle. This shows that you don’t have to go to a gym to live a healthier lifestyle,” he said.

“You can engage in any sort of movement, actions or mobilisation of your body. If you’re dancing or doing anything that’s active, you’re making a move to a healthier lifestyle. The entire public is welcome to participate in the WoW active public sessions.”

The WoW! Active Public sessions will take place every Wednesday in the Company’s Garden or in the Whale Well of the Iziko Museum. The Western Cape Government Gym also hosts employees only sessions on Wednesdays from 11:15 to 11:45.

For more information about the sessions or other WoW events, call 021 483 6814 or send an email to wow@westerncape.gov.za.

The Western Cape Government works to educate residents about the dangers of unhealthy lifestyles in the hope of creating a healthier public, BETTER TOGETHER
