DSD Winter Readiness Campaign to be launched by Minister Fritz

Tomorrow, the Western Cape Minister of Social Development will launch the Department’s Winter Readiness Campaign in Cape Town.

The launch will also mark our commemoration of International Day of Families. The Minister will launch the campaign with a donation to the Youth Solutions Africa shelter for the homeless.

The Winter Readiness Campaign forms part of the Departments overall preparations for the upcoming wet and cold winter months. Our major preparations involve shelters for homeless adults, social work services aimed at family reunification, and social relief of distress.

The MEC will be joined by our NGO partner, Al-Imdaad, which has generously joined the Department in providing blankets, mattresses, and non-perishable food stuffs to numerous shelters across the province.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
