Premier Zille to Launch Skills Development and Work Experience Youth Programme

Tomorrow (Thursday, 3 May), Premier Helen Zille will launch the Premier's Advancement of Youth (PAY) Project, a skills development and work experience programme driven by the Department of the Premier that will provide young people with the opportunity to gain practical workplace skills and experience within the Western Cape Government.

The 850 young people participating in the PAY Project were selected from learners who matriculated in 2011 and applied for the programme.

They are currently going through a week of work readiness training from 30 April to 4 May, after which they will be placed in internships in departments across the Western Cape Government.

The internships will run until the end of 2012.
