R27 West Coast Road to be closed for materials testing

The R27 West Coast Road will be closed for materials testing on the following days:

  • Thursday, 8 February, 6pm to 11pm - Between Sandown Road East and Link Road intersections, and
  • Thursday - Friday, 8-9 February, 11pm to 5am - at Marine Drive intersection.

Closure of the slow lane will be implemented on the northbound carriageway. Marine Drive will be closed in both directions.

Please note that delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to make use of alternative routes where possible.

Both lanes on the southbound carriageway will be open during the morning peak (6am to 10am) and both lanes on the northbound carriageway will be open during the afternoon peak (3pm to 7pm) on these dates.

The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all temporary road signs, cones, flag operators and speed controls are maintained and are effective, and that courtesy is extended to the travelling public at all times.

The public is requested to be vigilant and exercise caution when using this road, especially at night.
