Call for young people to apply for tourism training programme

The National Department of Tourism is calling on unemployed young people to participate in a countrywide training programme.

To apply, young people in the Western Cape must register on the Department of Labour’s database, the Employment System of South Africa (ESSA).

The closing date is Monday, 4 December 2017.

As part of its Expanded Public Works Programme, the National Department of Tourism (NDT) is seeking to train young unemployed people as data collectors.

The trainees will earn a stipend as they conduct surveys for the development of a National Tourism Information and Monitoring System.

Candidates should be:

  • South African citizens
  • Between 18 years old and 35 years old
  • In possession of a minimum National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 5
