DCAS Introduces Students To Library Core Business

25 October 2017

On Friday, 20 October 2017, students from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), accompanied by their lecturer, visited the Western Cape Library Service.

The 2nd year Library and Information Science students were introduced to the various functions and operations of the Library Service at Head Office in Chiappini Street in Cape Town. UWC lecturer, Anthea Josias described the visit as informative and inspiring. “ It is just great that our students have this opportunity to visualise the course content, and also hear first-hand of the unfunded mandate, conditional grant and municipal replacement funds,“ she said.

The Department of Cultural Affairs (DCAS) is committed to improve education outcomes and opportunities for youth development. Let us continue to create opportunities for growth BETTER TOGETHER.
