Western Cape hotel wins top award

12 October 2017

A Western Cape hotel has been named as the country’s top Wine Country Hotel 2017 at an international travel awards ceremony.

Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, congratulated Leeu Estates on being recognised as South Africa’s leading Wine Country Hotel 2017 at the World Travel Awards Africa in Rwanda on Tuesday. The World Travel Awards are voted for by consumers and the tourism sector.

“This is excellent news for our tourism sector. The World Travel Awards, which celebrated its 24th anniversary this year, is one of the most prestigious awards bodies in tourism. Leeu Estates’ win is great promotion for themselves and the Western Cape. I would like to commend them on this achievement.”

In another win for Western Cape tourism, the Cape Town International Airport won the title of Africa’s best airport at the awards.
