Team Western Cape performing well at Rural Sport Development Championships

13 July 2017

The Rural Sport Development Programme National Championships is currently underway in Polokwane, Limpopo. Team Western Cape, accompanied by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport’s Sport Promotion Directorate, is competing at the National Championships.

After a very successful opening ceremony, Team Western Cape’s u/15 netball and rugby teams went on to win their respective games. On day two and three, Team Western Cape enjoyed a successful run of fixtures in football, netball and sevens rugby.

Two netball teams have progressed to the quarter finals as well as three of the football teams. Both of the boys’ rugby teams have also progressed to the quarter final.

The athletics heats start on Thursday 13 July and we expect Team Western Cape to once again show their strength.

Please see Team Western Cape’s results for the first three days online. The National Championships run until 14 July 2017.
