Department calls for funding applications from Non-Profit Organizations

29 June 2017

The Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) has officially opened applications for funding for the new 3-year funding cycle.

Funding applications are invited from non-profit organisations (NPOs) and other qualifying organisations to provide certain social welfare/community development services on behalf of the Department. This call for applications also includes currently funded organisations, residential and non-residential facilities.

The closing time and date for the submission of proposals is 4pm on 31 July 2017.

Applications must be clearly marked: “Funding Application for 2018/19” and posted to Private Bag X9112, Cape Town, 8000.

Alternatively, applicants can place their applications in marked boxes in the foyer of the Department's Head Office, located at 14 Queen Victoria Street, Union House, Cape Town.

No electronic applications will be accepted.

This is an opportunity for organisations with innovative and new approaches to tackling social issues in their communities, to also submit applications for funding. The Department currently spends just over R1-billion per year on funding to NPOs which partner with us to deliver quality services to the people of the Western Cape. We call on all non-profit organisations, which seek to make a difference, to apply.

Download the application forms  and find out more information on the funding applications here. Application forms can also be acquired at any of our regional or local offices across the province.
