Premier Zille to Deliver Keynote Address at Western Cape Government After School

15 February 2017

Tomorrow,16 February, Premier Helen Zille will deliver a keynote address at the Western Cape Government After School Symposium.

The Western Cape Government has prioritised the expansion of quality After School programmes in the province as one of seven Game Changers.

We have set ourselves the goal of more than doubling the participation of learners from disadvantaged schools in after school activities, and ensuring regular attendance by significantly improving the attractiveness and quality of these programmes.

The Symposium will take place over two days and will bring together thought leaders working in the After School space including academics, practitioners from government and NGOs, donors and other strategic partners.

It will also include a marketplace where some stakeholders will display their work and have the opportunity to engage with potential partners.

Premier Zille will deliver her address on the After School Game Changer during the opening session.

She will be joined by a number of other keynote speakers including academic Nic Spaull and Lusanda Gwayi, CEO of the Dream Factory Foundation. There will also be a number of panel discussions taking place over the two days. (The Symposium programme is attached.)
