Inauguration of Management Committee for Cape Town Museum

24 August 2016

The inaugural meeting of the Cape Town Museum’s management committee was hosted by the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) on Tuesday 23 August 2016. Subsequent to the proclamation of the museum in September 2015, the management committee has now been formed and Minister Marais, who attended the meeting, wished the committee members well for their two-year term.

The Cape Town Museum will serve as a key access point and a reliable introduction for Capetonians and tourists wanting to get an overview of the history and development of the city.

The management committee will align the DCAS legislative mandates and corporate processes, working together to preserve the heritage of the city as well as the Western Cape and thereby contributing to the social inclusion of our diverse population.

The members of the Cape Town Museum management committee are:

  • Mr Bradley Van Sitter
  • Dr June Bam-Hutchison
  • Dr Bongani Cyprian Ndhlovu
  • Ms Amanda Lomberg
