Kung Fu Master, MJ Li Officially Congratulated by Minister Marais

Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais officially congratulates Kung Fu Master, Muhammad Junaid Chafeker (better known as MJ Li) as the only qualifier to represent South Africa at the Legends of Kung Fu World Championship in the USA from 22 July 2016.

The Legends of Kung Fu World Championships is one of the largest Chinese Martial Arts tournaments globally. In 2014, MJ Li finished at the Championship with 3 golds in the categories Blindfold Tai-Chi, Blindfold Straight Sword, Traditional Internal Other Tai-Chi Divisions, 1 gold in The Special Exhibition Division and 1 silver in The Traditional External Other Division.

Minister Marais is proud of MJ Li’s exceptional sporting finesse: “MJ Li is a leading example to our youth. Through his self-determination and unwavering dedication to excellence, he will again make us proud and carry the South African flag high on the international stage. Undoubtedly, he is a beacon of hope, inspiration and motivation for the youth of South Africa”.

Minister Marais wishes MJ Li all the best at the Championship and is confident that he will bring home the gold once again.
