Expect delays when travelling to Snoek en Patatfees, Goedverwacht

20 June 2016

Motorists can expect delays when travelling to the Snoek en Patatfees to be held in Goedverwacht near Piketberg on 24 and 25 June 2016.

The Department of Transport and Public Works is currently rehabilitating a 56 km stretch of road on the R399 between Piketberg and Velddrif. It is estimated that up to 1 900 vehicles use this road every day, and this is expected to increase this coming weekend.

There will be three stop/ go closures between Velddrif (R27) and Goedverwacht which will increase average travelling time on this road by approximately 30 minutes.  A stop/ go closure between Piketberg (N7) and Goedverwacht means an increased travelling time of about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, there are no alternative routes to Goedverwacht.

The Department is aware that roadworks frustrate motorists, but takes all possible steps to minimise inconvenience. We thank motorists for their patience.
