Easter update on roadworks near Langebaan

22 March 2016

Work on a Department of Transport and Public Works project to refurbish sections of Trunk Road 21 and Main Road 233 in the Hopefield-Vredenburg-Langebaan area has commenced. Between March and December 2016 there will be no access to Langebaan via the Engen garage turnoff from the R27. Access to Langebaan from the R27 is only possible from the weighbridge turnoff approximately 5 km further in the direction of Velddrif. From the weighbridge turnoff, motorists can travel to Langebaan by coming past Saldanha Steel.

One-way traffic along the Engen garage road will be possible for vehicles travelling from Langebaan towards the R27.

Maintenance and upgrading work on Western Cape roads inevitably causes some traffic disruption. However, the Department does everything in its power to minimise inconvenience to road users. Motorists are urged to drive with caution, and to comply with applicable speed limits at all times.
