Minister Plato to attend religious leaders’ safety engagement in Hanover Park

26 February 2016

Tomorrow, Saturday 27 February 2016, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will be joining the ‘Hanover Park Ministers Fraternal’ for a safety outreach engagement.

Minister Plato, as guest of the religious fraternity of Hanover Park on the day, will be discussing the role of religious institutions in helping to create safer communities, specifically through the work of the Youth Safety and Religious Partnership (YSRP) programme.

The Department of Community Safety believes in a whole-of-society approach towards safety through targeted interventions and effective partnerships. Existing partnerships with the religious fraternity throughout the province have proven to be successful and the Department is continuously looking at new ways to reach more people, especially youth, through the expansion of our partnership network.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
