Minister Plato to handover Safety Kiosk in Bellville

Today, 14 July 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will officially hand over a Safety Kiosk to the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District (VRCID) to further assist in safety operations in the Bellville/Parow areas in partnership with the Department of Community Safety.

The Safety Kiosk will be utilized for crime prevention by increasing visibility in hotspot areas and through daily operations and blitzes in partnership with the VRCID.

The handover of the kiosk in Bellville tomorrow forms part of the delivery of the first phase of the new Safety Partnerships which will see the roll out of 40 Safety Kiosks by the Department of Community Safety and relevant safety stakeholders and will enable communities to play an active role in identifying and resolving safety concerns that exist within their neighbourhoods.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
