Knysna Forest Marathon A Fitting End to Festival

The 42 km Knysna Forest Marathon and 21 km half marathon took place in cold conditions on Saturday 11 July 2015. This final event of the annual Knysna Oyster Festival started in the forest about 15 km out of town.

Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport Anroux Marais fired the starting gun at 07:00 with the Mayor of Knysna, Jeorlene Wolmarans.

The winner of the 42 km event was Tsepang Ramonene and Tshepo Ramonene won the 21 km race. Tsepang won the 42km marathon in 2:25:28 while his brother Tshepo, won the 21km race in 1:06:56.

The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport supports sporting festivals across the province. We encourage everyone to get involved and attend these events in order to grow sport in the Western Cape BETTER TOGETHER.
