Today, 14 April 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety will officially present the full results of the provincial Policing Needs and Priorities (PNP) consultation process of 2014/15.
Minister Plato will brief journalists on the report, its findings, results, and recommendations together with the way forward to create safer communities in the province.
The PNP 2014/15 results follow the extensive six month consultation process between July and December 2014 where the Department of Community Safety hosted consultation meetings in all 25 police clusters, engaging with more than 2500 safety stakeholders.
The inputs from all 25 meetings held in the province are included in the PNP report to be presented to the media today and is also submitted to the National Minister of Police for his consideration when determining where different policing resources are needed as per Section 206(1) of the Constitution.
There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews. A full copy of the Policing Needs and Priorities Report will be provided to journalists in attendance.
