Minister Mbombo and Mayor de Lille to Sign MoU with Minstrels and Choirs

On Monday, 17 November 2014, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, and Mayor Patricia de Lille will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding to pledge their financial support to the Minstrels, Malay and Christmas Choirs.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) considers the Annual events of these groups to be fundamental to preserving the Western Cape’s culture and heritage and therefore is committed to providing continued support for them.

DCAS has pledged an amount of R2 370 000.00 for the 2014/15 financial year. This money will be given as support for the events that occur in the time after Christmas and New Year.

Both Minister Mbombo and Mayor de Lille will be addressing the media.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
