Minister Mbombo to send off Golden Games athletes

On Sunday, 26 October 2014, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, will be meeting the Western Cape Golden Games athletes at the airport to wish them well as they depart to compete at the National Golden Games in Gauteng.

The Golden Games offer participants older than 60 years the opportunity to participate in competitive sporting activities. Over the past few months, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) hosted various regional games and the winners of those games were selected to form the provincial team. This team will now be competing at the National Games.

The Provincial Government  is committed to creating active and healthy communities including older persons and encourage them to continue living healthy lifestyles.
