Toasting Excellence at Gene Louw Traffic College's 25th Anniversary Celebration

Gene Louw Traffic College (GLTC) celebrated its 25th Anniversary on 26 September 2014 at its campus in Brackenfell.

Past students and training facilitators attended the event as well as staff members, senior officials and dignitaries including Donald Grant, Minister of Transport and Public Works.

Minister Grant beamed with pride as he described the college’s achievements including its full registration and accreditation with SASSETA, RTMC and SAPS.

Future Developments

Minister Grant mapped out the envisaged future developments of the college which include residential accommodation for students, conversion of the old pit area into an indoor shooting range and an onsite traffic museum for the traffic profession.

“Gene Louw Traffic College will maintain its status as a leading institution that continues to provide unmatched levels of traffic's training and development within an increasing complex and challenging traffic management environment," said Minister Grant.

The Head of Department of Transport and Public Works, Jacqui Gooch officially launched the college’s new website and identified the potential advantages of having a web presence.

A Toast to Excellence

Once the formal part of the event was over, guests were invited to the college’s courtyard where Ms Gooch made a toast acknowledging the hard work of staff members past and present and congratulated them on the college’s achievements.

The 25th Anniversary celebration gave senior officials the opportunity to thank those who contributed so significantly to the success and development of GLTC.
