Mfuleni to Get a Temporary Health Facility

12 May 2014

Following major space constraints at the Mfuleni Community Health Centre, a decision has been taken to erect an interim facility, similar to the temporary Du Noon health facility, which can be used as a community hall by the community once the new permanent structure is completed.

This decision follows the visit of the Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, to the health facility in February this year. At this meeting Minister Botha asked the Department to prioritise the reconstruction of the facility.  At present Western Cape Government Health is working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the proposed design of the interim Mfuleni facility structure has a future use.  A meeting was held with all stakeholders in April to ensure that the design of the interim facility can be used as a multi-purpose hall, once the Mfuleni Community Health Centre is complete.

Timelines will be announced once the design for the interim facility has been approved.
