Ongoing Education for MOD Coaches

10 March 2014

Mass participation, Opportunity and access; Development and growth (MOD) Centre coaches and curriculum developers gathered on 8 March 2014 for a coaching mentoring session.

During the session, curriculum developers introduced coaches of netball, cricket, rugby, aquatics, chess, athletics, gymnastics, football, hockey, tennis, table tennis and volleyball to key aspects of the curriculum.

According to Ralph Coetzee, who is responsible for district coordination and curriculum management of the MOD Programme, “this sort of interaction between coaches and curriculum developers helps to foster constant growth in the programme”. Coaches must understand every aspect of their code to support the development of elite athletes.
