Cape Town International Airport Rated as Africa’s Best

Cape Town International Airport has been rated as Africa’s top performing airport for the fourth year in a row.

Alan Winde, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, commended Cape Town International Airport for scooping the international award.

The Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality awards are recognised as the most prestigious airport accolades. The ACI is the global trade association of the world’s airports.

Apart from Africa, regions include Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America-Carribean, Middle East and North America.

The top performing airports in Africa:

  1. Cape Town
  2. Durban
  3. Mauritius
  4. Cairo
  5. Johannesburg


Upington Airport was rated as Africa’s Best Airport serving under two million passengers.

Minister Winde said this achievement was due to the efforts of the Cape Town International Airport staff.

“The ACI recognises service excellence at airports across the globe, it’s the highest accolade in the industry. This award is thanks to the dedication of the Cape Town International Airport team to service delivery excellence,” said Minister Winde.
