Minister Meyer to Host Lunch for SA Chess Champions and Elite Track Cycling Team

On Friday, 7 February 2014, the Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport Dr Ivan Meyer will host a lunch function for male and female South African Chess champions, Donavan van den Heever and Denise Frick, as well as members of the South African Elite Cycling Track Team, Juan Smith, Jean Nell, Maroesjka Mathee and Kyle Borchjes.

Van den Heerver and Frick will lead the SA team to the World Chess Olympiad to take place in Norway in August this year while Smith, Nel, Mathee and Borchjes will be part of the team that will represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow in July.
