Media Alert: Minister Dan Plato to Launch Community Safety SMS Info Line

On Thursday, 3 October 2013, Dan Plato, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety will launch the new Community Safety SMS info line.

Earlier this year, the Community Safety Act was passed and outlined in detail the department's constitutional oversight mandate. The department is dedicated to continually improving policing and traffic services and this SMS info line will support our efforts to carry out our duties and also empower the communities of the Western Cape.

This new communications platform allows the department to engage with the public to ensure that we remain responsive to the needs of communities.
