Minister Carlisle to Conduct Walkabout at Nyanga Taxi Rank

5 August 2013

Following recent reports of shootings and killings related to the taxi industry, particularly in the Nyanga area and taxi rank, there have been various concerns raised regarding safety at that rank; particularly for the many commuters who use that interchange on a daily basis.

On 5 August 2013, Robin Carlisle, Minister of Transport and Public Works will be conducting a walkabout at the Nyanga taxi rank to assess the impact that this scourge of violence has had on commuters. He will be discussing interventions by the Department of Transport and Public Works to address this on-going issue.

Minister Carlisle will also be among the many commuters riding into work by taxi on this day.
