Premier Helen Zille and Suzelle DIY exchange water savings tips

22 March 2016

The Western Cape, like the rest of the country, is experiencing one of the driest years on record in terms of rainfall. Dams are on average all emptier than they were at the same time a year ago.

Anton Bredell, the minister of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in the Western Cape, has been driving a water savings media campaign over the past few months and calls on the public to continue to assist in using water wisely.

“Given the continued pressure on water resources in the Western Cape, we continue to raise awareness around saving water. The latest campaign is a collaboration between Premier Helen Zille and social media sensation Suzelle DIY. We are excited about the impact this campaign may have in getting people to be more water wise.”

In the online clip that is available on Youtube, the Premier appears as a “guest” on the Suzelle show. The theme “How to be Water Wise Guys” (and other water saving tricks) was chosen to show what can be done at home to save water.
